However, once the cold war ended, it became pretty obvious that something was stopping the USA and Russia from at least becoming "acquaintances" if not strong allies. If the USA and Russia were to become strong trade partners and learn to trust one another, I think you'd see the world mostly at peace in a few short years (world peace = DS going bankrupt).
