None of the alternative candidates even advertised.
Crenshaw put up election signs everywhere, he advertised on the radio, on TV and in the newspaper. He sent out flyers. None of the other candidates had signs, they didn't do any advertising and they didn't introduce themselves to voters in the district. Crenshaw put out the effort.
Another factor was that Trump visited Conroe, Texas (on the North side of Crenshaw's district) in early February. HE didn't endorse any alternative candidate to challenge Crenshaw. Had Trump endorsed anyone, they probably would have won the election.
In the same way the challengers didn't put up signs or bother advertising... none of them likely picked up the phone to call Trump and ASK for his endorsement.
I live in Crenshaw's district.

Agreed, plus the districts changed and we moved from district 8 to district2. Made a big difference.
