People can't act against their nature

You and I were born free. (As free as anyone, put it that way.) We can't imagine living any other way. I would literally choose death instead.

Few Chinese people have ever been born free. They neither believe it possible nor consider it necessary to rise up and overwhelm their oppressors. The chaos, disorder and disruption would be worse than enslavement.
