If it was for something like that, I suspect he would have outright said it (ex. I was drunk, it was late, and I peed on a tree and it happened to be near a school which I didn't know at the time. Plus there were no kids there as it was at night.). Instead, he downplays and obfuscates what he allegedly did by saying:

... due to unfortunate events that occurred almost a decade ago ...

I do agree that the registered sex offender status is definitely abused in certain cases.

Also, the more I read this post, the more I think it might be a troll. It seems unreal that some one would actually post this. If it is true, whoever wrote it might not be very self aware.
