😱 Whoa. I had no clue. I just ate the stuff when the raw food people were around.
You just have to remember when you're fasting or eating raw, that if you don't get enough cholesterol in your diet, your body will cannibalize it's own cholesterol. And it will slowly eat away at you. So it's not good to do long-term.
I did keto and IF, so that's not a problem. The craziest thing on keto (besides the mental clarity and the fast body adaptation) was how sensitive I became to the garbage in food.
For example, as a kid, my mom had us on a strict health food diet. I remember eating Fruity Pebbles for the first time and it leaving a light burn in my mouth. Similar to a hot sauce burn, but it definitely had more of a chemical taste and feel to it. I was a kid so it didn't stop me. Never felt it again.
When I went keto for over a year, my body purged itself of all that crap in my body. So when i went back to eating whatever, I picked up a Fruity Pebbles white chocolate bar and I experienced the same burn from when I was a kid. I completely forgot this memory for decades. Thats when the light went on, and my feelings met the data.
Yes, so the lingering you're talking about happens to me even when I don't abstain from it, but when I did abstain, it just made everything more intense. The lingering, the flavor, the bloodrush, all of it. That stuff is everything but natural.
it has to be the iron thing... I don't absorb non-heme iron at all,
I don't know if you're familiar with Dr Berg, but I'd be interested in seeing if he has any videos of what you are experiencing. He's a great keto source and though he appears to remain politically neutral, I wouldn't be surprised if he is on GAW. His research is top notch.

The garbage they put in food is total shit.
Did this too. Its fucking nuts.
Crazy keto power i got was being able to intensely smell bread in the room. 😆😆😆
That sucks. Super low carb is definitely the way to go if you can't swing keto.
A quick search shows a B12 and iron deficiency for melasma. So maybe for foods with those in it will help? (Disclaimer: Also not a doctor)
