Patriot teacher here: I have had complaints for how I portray Trump, and Covid. I found it safer to lean hard into the tricks of advertising. Having students call out how actors "smile with their body language" as they interact with the products. Watching productions how they paint food for commercials. Eventually someone will notice how some of those same tricks appear to be used on the news. Teaching students to question a narrative is the best gift I can give.
