Connecting baphomet to satanism or occult beliefs/practice is quite reasonable, especially as practitioners have been making use of the imagery for centuries. And because Christians know that there is a filthy, evil spiritual entity behind every false idol.
This is a really stupid thing to express outrage about. The baphomet has been connected to satanism by practitioners for centuries, so posing as more-knowledgeable about baphome to assume authority --to mock folks who do make the connection-- is really dumb and ineffective.

There is so so much to go over, and I agree text itself makes me seem like an asshole. Now let me preface this by saying I believe in God, YHWH, Source, Spirit. How ever YOU choose to express and name It. I also believe in Jesus, and I do believe He also died for our sins. And infact, He died for ALL of our worldly sins, so long as we accept HIM, and the Father in the End yes? This is the ,main tenant of Christianity, and Catholics yes? Sorry that also sounds condescending....but I am only trying to explain. Now that I got that out of the way.
In the beginning there was nothing.....then God created EVERYTHING. This we can agree on yes? Now this being said......Do we not think God has/had a "shadow" side? When He created everything, He made Light and Dark. It is US HUMANS whom label these beings. And Entities. And we base these solely off the books written by folks who wanted to control us.
Now this ALL being said. The Templars are said to have created this Egregore, The Baphomet. It is suspected they were taking leaning from EVERY religion they "conquered" for the Church. The "historians" suspect, the Baphomet, is a representation of the Muslim faith Muhammed.
Now, That being said. I do believe the Baphomet has been corrupted by Satanists. But if you dig deeper into the NWO, Illuminati, and stuff....the Human sacrifice and all that it's all for Moloch.
Now I do BELIEVE The Baphomet CAN be "Evil" if the person envoking it has those intentions. Much like Priests who abuse their power. It is the INTENTION of the sole individual.
The picture of the Baphomet is balance. The Human, Divine Body, coupled with the "vile" goat. The Alchemic sayings, to transmute darkness to light. The "dark" is your "shadow" The things you do not wish to have in the light. Your hidden truths. And to have true enlightenment one should be free of shame and guilt. Not saying we CAN do bad things if we feel bad. Even as Occultists, Pagans, We believe in the law of karma. We do not alter free will. It is against BALANCE.
I can get much deeper...I hope this gives some insight. It's about the intention of the "Magician" "Practitioner" That makes things truly "Good" or "Evil" Specifically about this created Egregore......who has now become much more like a battery bank of information. It is not Sentient, it is not on the Order of power of Arch Angels lets say....in my own experience......Baphomet has become sentient. He has become a symbol of the occult. You originally tried to defend "baphomet" by pretending to know more than anybody and that people commenting had understanding inferior to your own. THEN when you are easily disproven and connections are easily made between satanists, occultists, etc and baphomet, you lay out your full defense but you FORGOT your original objective....to avoid outing yourself as a witch or satanist, who both use that term "as above so below".
baphomet imagery is big among witches and satanists now (a statue of baphoment is in the front of the new Satan Temple in Detroit, in fact). I'm guessing that with the male/female duality stuff, you think you're a witch. Best of luck and I'm sorry you are so deluded.

Reread the post. I didn't say occult beliefs were satanism. I said SPECIFICALLY "satanism or occult beliefs/practice"...So I purposefully made a DISTINCTION between occult beliefs and satanism, the opposite of what you said.

God although it brings light and is in all light also dwells in the other half which is the darkness (obviously) as god makes up everything both light and dark. Yes these occultists use the negative,shadow, darkness energy for bad things, this energy is benevolent though extremely powerful in terms of short term. worshiping god through the light much better apparently. Baphomet is the god of darkness these occultist such as the knights Templar, where into dichotomy and so they did on the other hand also worship god as the light too. There are defiantly ones who only worship the darkness though Sabateans etc
