I don't believe the story for a second, but if it was true I'm pretty sure these guys would be guilty of war crimes/treason. Since when is it OK for civilians to just go fight in another country's war? Kill another country's soldiers? With no contract from a government so you can't even really be called a mercenary? Just cause you want to. Yeah, I don't think so.
