I paid over $28K in taxes around 2011-12. IRS found an error and sent me a bill for $17.11. I ignored it. They sent threatening letters, I ended up having to pay close to $100 due to "penalties". I was pissed for almost an entire CY over that.
The IRS needs to be burnt to the ground. Employees castrated so they can't reproduce whatever bloodline that made them think working for these assholes was a good idea.
Kek, yes, I wish I had been thinking, I was too pissed to see straight. I hated the IRS before I was even born, but I have to say, that experience opened my eyes in lot of ways. In hindsight, it was probably worth the penalty. They helped wake me up.
I freaking hate when I get any mail with the IRS return address.🙄😬 Our identity was stolen 5 years ago just to file taxes but the state caught an error and the fraudsters never got a dime. Now we get separate letters with a pin number for husband and I from the IRS. I still hate seeing it every year.
My MIL was billed .09 cents. Transposition on my part when writing the check. Anyway, we taped 9 pennies to a piece of cardboard and mailed off to the IRS. Cost them time, money and a .54 cent stamp to mail us a receipt. So satisfying.
Us as well. I'm 61, have been in the work environment since 1983. I got lucky and scored a good job with a great company when I was first out. Consequently, not of any doing of my own, cause I was not that smart, just a hard worker that was willing to listen, I advanced. (trust me, God was watching over me, cause I didn't deserve it). So we paid taxes quarterly for a while. I charted my income / taxes in 2015 from 1991 to 2015. It was disgusting. Made me want to puke. Everyday I wonder how much of my money was actually used for "good". I bet less than 10%. Sorry for the TMI rant, just a old pissed off topic for me. Have a great day.

I would have sent them a check for $17.76 just to force them to send back a refund for $.64

During the Barry admin we paid the most we have ever paid in taxes.
