Yeah a 3 mile long convoy isn't the best military tactic unless you own the skies! Remember the Basra highway and the road to Baghdad - it was easy pickings.
Besides much of the hardware used by the Ukrainians literally came from Russia, ever wonder how BTR60's and BMP1/BRDM's go rusty in a few hours? Look at the images. Never many bodies in crew positions, nor many on the streets, just a few empty vehicles some smashed to bits and going rusty quickly.

Fascinating, what kind of ordinance was used to put those big rusty holes in the tanks yet leave the surrounding terrain virtually unscathed. No windows broken from Shockwaves, no scorched ground or surrounding....
