His VP was Spiro Agnew, who was somehow disgraced, forced to resign & even disbarred afterwards over a minor detail. I doubt Agnew was keeping Nixon in check. Maybe Kissinger was though. Kissinger was his Secretary or State (not his VP) and furthermore, Kissinger has had a personal relationship with every president since, including Trump (Though I believe Trump knows exactly what he is made of) BTW Kissinger is 98 years old & maybe a little frail but of sound mind. That's pretty damn good for someone who advises presidents & etc. What I am saying is that, um, I wonder what keeps him so alert?
