They want you to stop driving so to catch public transport because it cost $$$$$ to drive your car, truck.

That won't work, because there are a lot of places without public transport. My hometown got rid of city buses back in the early 60s. Now most of the taxi companies are gone. Uber is just someone else's car, and you can't Uber to the beach. :)
