I live inside the Beltway. As far as I can tell, this is having very little effect.
Most government workers have been teleworking since the beginning of the Pandemic. The same with the majority of private businesses here. DC is a virtual ghost town.
And since most people are teleworking now, there isn't much local traffic on the roads. So the majority of people being exposed to the convoy right now are tourists, truck drivers still making deliveries, and people just passing through. And remember, before the pandemic, DC had the third worst traffic in the country. So right now, even with the convoy slowing things down, traffic is only a fraction as bad as it normally is. So they're not bothering these people by slowing down traffic. We're conditioned to traffic snarls
I hope the convoy are still getting donations and aren't going out of pocket paying for gas and hotels for this.
Because as far as I can tell, no one here gives half a shite about what they're doing.
