Love Elon. My parents were both in their mid-70s when I convinced them to take a test drive in a Model S. They were shopping for a Cadillac/Mercedes/BMW mid level luxury car. They fell in love with the look, tech and speed of the Tesla. They placed their first order four years ago and were the first amongst their “card carrying” Republican friends to own a Tesla. They’ve since converted a few of their friends to purchase their own Teslas. And their surrounding neighbors are speechless that “those Republicans” own a Tesla!
My parents Tesla purchase is an fuck you to the establishment. The auto manufacturers who are in bed with the oil manufacturers who artificially keep gas mileage low. Fun fact: there was a guy in the 1960s who engineered a regular gasoline engine to run upwards of 100 miles a gallon. It was either Ford or Chevy who bought his patent and shelved it. That guy thought they were going to implement his advancement. It’s been mothballed ever since.
I don’t need the hear the argument, “well, electric vehicles take X amount of resources to run, coal, earth depleting minerals, etc.” fuck that noise. A Tesla purchase is about turning the automotive industry on its head. I love the disruption. Especially when it comes from very stuck in the mud elderly demographics.
I’ve red pilled my parents about the truth of their once beloved Bush family and the Republican Party in general. They are hardcore patriots and they love Trump with a passionate as do I.
Elon and his tweets are another “disruption” I love seeing. I work in Hollywood and the amount of homo friends that I work with (figurative and actual) who own Tesla’s is astounding. The amount of betrayal they live with from Elon tweeting tweets like these is a glorious thing to witness first hand.

I’m grinning ear to ear.
