I've been using Brave almost exclusively for about a year.
In the past I relied heavily on google for job-related searches, unable to use DDG because the results weren't relevant enough. But I'm happy to report that using Brave with the google-fallback option enabled, I haven't needed to use an alternate search engine in quite some time.
I am using the Brave browser and added the Brave search engine after kicking out DDG. Not bad, but it delivers (filtered) Google search results. Simple test: search for terms such as Covid hoax, plandemic etc. If the first results are MSM or fact checkers, better change your search engine. Fun fact: I also installed Yandex (Russian) and it passed the test.
I seldom use just one search engine. I like to compare searches between several different one. Here are some I've used in the past but I don't vouch for any single one.
https://rightdao.com/search - claims it doesn't censor and suppresses publicly available information in order to present a distorted, one-sided version of reality.
https://presearch.org/ - I haven't used this one but a few times and that was a while back.
I'm trying Brave

I'm using Startpage - dumped DDG last week for sure as my start page. So far so good but standby.
Brave seems ok.
Brave has been good so far. Still hosted by amzn services but still trust the brave team more than anyone else
