Google maps needs to add tank and APC to the travel methods.
War maps are near worthless. First, the military wouldn't ever provide location of their troops. And lastly they serve as public propaganda tools. Once this is acknowledged, then a map is set into context. This map seems rather scant compared to this one posted by Saker. Saker does a good job talking about how a map is NOT a faithful representation of reality.
Not suggesting this map is more or less accurate than any other map. This source is known to be heavily pro-Ukraine.
Agree that the Saker map gives a more accurate picture of whats going on.
Point of the post is to highlight that the amount of activity on this map, today, is way above normal levels.
Its only ever had a few dots covering major reports of activity. Today, the whole front is lit up, and that in itself is unusual.
Most of the battle reports state :
substitute the names of villages / towns for each report - basically ramping up the contact to consolidate and secure existing areas, and move up logistics support.
Sounds like they are prepping for a big push right across the front.
Russian doctrine (well, old Soviet doctrine if they are still using it), involves just going nuts across the entire front at the same time, and then pushing hard to break through any and all weak points detected.
Cherkassy Pocket all over again ....
Whatever the source... that 'lone strikes near the Polish border stands out a mile. Definitely Tactical.
Hyped by MSM as an "attack on NATOS Border - WWIII 😱! ...
But more likely a strike on NATO Mercenaries ALREADY INSIDE Ukrainian Borders.
what is this map? who updates it?

Its supposedly 'opensource intel', but is heavily slanted pro-ukraine.
The point of the post isnt the accuracy of the map - thats impossible to know.
The point of the post is that the amount of activity on the map this morning is way above normal levels. They normally show a few dots over busy sectors. Today though - there is activity over every scrap of the front.
yes, being a bit of a map hog myself, I have been trying to get to the bottom of the truth and it is as clear as mud. For good reason of course, because neither side wants to signal to the other what is actually happening.
This is an interesting development.
A lot of the 'battles' appear to have happened in the last two hours.
map hogging :)
Old situation map, but its probably just as accurate ... enjoy :)
