The US has enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years
Email from a friend, research needed
About 6 months ago, there was a news program on oil and one of The Forbes Bros. was the guest. The host said to Forbes, "I am going to ask you a direct question and I would like a direct answer; how much oil does the U.S. Have in the ground?" Forbes did not miss a beat, he said, "More than all the Middle East put Together."
The U.S. Geological Service issued a report in April 2008 that only Scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a revised report (hadn't been updated since 1995) on how much oil was in this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota, western South Dakota, and Extreme eastern Montana.
Check THIS out:
The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska's Prudhoe Bay and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign oil. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable (5 Billion barrels), at $107 a barrel, we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5.3 trillion. "When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see their Jaws hit the floor.
They had no idea." says Terry Johnson, the Montana Legislature's financial analyzer. "This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found in the past 56 years," reports The Pittsburgh Post Gazette.
It's a formation known as the Williston Basin but is more commonly referred to as the 'Bakken.' It stretches from Northern Montana, through North Dakota and into Canada. For years, U.S. Oil exploration has been considered a dead end. Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up searching for major oil wells decades ago.
However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened up the Bakken's Massive reserves, And, we now have access of up to 500 billion barrels. And because this is Light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL!!!!! That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years Straight. And if THAT didn't throw you on the floor, then this next one should - Because it's from 2006 !!!
U.S. Oil Discovery - Largest Reserve in the World Stansberry Report Online - 4/20/2006. Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the Largest untapped oil reserve in the world. It is more than 2 TRILLION barrels. On August 8, 2005 President Bush Mandated its extraction. In many recent years of high oil prices none has been extracted. With this mother lode of oil why are we still fighting over off-shore Drilling?
They reported this stunning news: We have more oil inside our borders, than all the other proven reserves on Earth.
Here are the official estimates:
8 times as much oil as Saudi Arabia
18 times as much oil as Iraq
21 times as much oil as Kuwait
22 times as much oil as Iran
500 times as much oil as Yemen
And, it's all right here in the Western United States !!!!!!
HOW can this BE? HOW can we NOT BE extracting this? Because the Environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help America become Independent of foreign oil! Again, we are letting a small group of people Dictate our lives and our economy. WHY?
James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we've got more oil in this very compact area than the entire Middle East, more than 2 TRILLION barrels Untapped. That's more than all the proven oil reserves of crude oil in the World today, reports The Denver Post.
Don't think 'OPEC' will drop its price even with this find? Think again! It's all about the competitive marketplace, it has to. Think OPEC just might be funding the environmentalists?
Got your attention yet? Now, while you're thinking about it, do this:
Pass this along. If you don't take a little time to do this, then you should stifle yourself the next time you complain about gas prices, by doing NOTHING, you forfeit your right to complain.
Now I just wonder what would happen in this country if every one of you sent this to everyone in your address book.
By the way, this can be verified. Check it out at the link below !!!!!!
USGS Releases Oil and Gas Assessment for the Bakken and Three Forks Formations of Montana and North Dakota | U.S. Geological Survey [usgs.gov]
In the past year, our Government has artificially restricted US oil and gas production by approximately 40%. At the same time it has increased our purchasing of Russian oil by 40%...yeah, I know, doesn't seem to make any sense. Two years ago the US was petroleum independent for the first time in decades. Yes, the goal of 100% "clean energy" is noble, but it has to be balanced with economic reality and US security.
I don’t believe oil is a “fossil fuel” I think it’s a byproduct of the earth. I haven’t studied enough to say anything definitely but common sense tell me what they’ve led us to believe is not true.
I agree. There are Methane sources off the coast of Germany that replenish after mining.
I have read, years ago, that many emptied and forgotten oil fields in Texas have re-filled.
Before Noah's flood, the earth was a hundred times more lush than it is today and all living creatures were 5 times, or more, bigger. That all got buried in sediment. A lot of it. Not to mention, oil can only be produced from organic matter.
I don't believe this theory.
Could you describe the process of oil being created by the minerals of the earth?
About as well as I can describe the process, over millions of years, of organic material grown on the surface which is allegedly churned down into the earth to create oil [shale, coal, methane, etc. ]
Think about playing ANY strategy game that involves limited resources, with several players each trying to win by controlling all the resources (land, money, etc... )
The best strategy to win is always to use up the OTHER person's resources as quickly as possible while they are relatively cheap (early in the game). Later in the game, they will have more money, but only diminished resources. YOU control the resources late in the game while prices have dramatically increased. You win back their money... and it's game over. Now you have all the money and resources.
Same thing with oil. The smartest place for the U.S. to keep our oil is in the ground. It is a reserve... and it's going to be available any time we want in the future. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia is projected to run out of oil by anywhere from 2035 to 2050.
The smart move is to use THEIR resources first. Let Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, UAE, etc... pump as much oil as they can... and let them sell it cheap. Within the next 30-years... they will have diminished oil reserves, decreasing yields from their few remaining oil fields... and nothing left to sell. :>)
It is smart at 1.79 a gallon. It isn't smart at 4.29 a gallon.
If there is that much under parts of the US alone, I'm willing to bet there are similar deposits in other countries.
I'm willing to be this report is probably why they went full throttle with Climate Change.
Lol……you are just figuring this out now?
We’ve known about it since 2004. But then my other half and other family members have worked in the oil industry for decades. We knew about it before the reports came out. No one believed us though and some still say it isn’t true.
Drill, Baby, Drill! Drill here, Drill Now! "F" the Green New Deal!!
The 'Environmental Movement' was part of the Communist to bring down the industrial capacity of the US by passing laws that hindered technological advancement and of natural utilization resources.
So far their plan has worked very effectively. Think, how many new water dams have been built in the last 35 years. How many new nuclear power plants have been built in the past 35 years.
Remember the Snail Darter? Look it up, and while you are at it look up the Delta Smelt and see how much water CA lets flow to the sea, even during a sever drought.
All the people who support the supposed Environmental Groups like 'Sierra Club, Save the Whales, Save the Bay, Green Peace, PETA, etc., are either Communists, Communist sympathizers, or as Lenin calls them "Useful Idiots".
Why would anyone want our country enslaved to OPEC or Russia, or Valenzuela for oil? Only to weaken the US so that we can be controlled by the Communists.
Great points
