It was a blessing when all you had to worry about was the Cadmium and Lead levels in the tobacco, but now days with reconstituted tobacco and fire retardant chemical in the papers, the list of poisons now added are many many more.
Definitively makes you old before your time. Old leather skinned, toothless, no hair, brown stained fingers, ashtray smelling, scarecrow looking skeleton of a woman. ( I shudder to think ) No loving for the wicked or the ugly in this world, best you just climb your yellow and black butt back up on that band wagon, while there's still time for self preservation and hope for esoteric beauty.
So expensive too, packs are close to what, $10 a piece now, cartons run at about $90 ? I'm seriously thinking of growing some tobacco next year as a cash crop. (Or bootlegging them from across the border, someone else was saying they're $30 a carton south of the border, last time I bought a carton I think it was $12).
For many years I rolled my own cigars. I gotta liking them expensive Cuban Cigars ( so smooth, so sweet, so silky, few can even come close to comparisons )
from my time in Brazil, story of my life, whiskey wants on beer budgets.
The raw leafs are relatively inexpensive and I could buy them, just not the finish cigar, I just had to learn how to treat them, (they have to be fermented in order to break down the sugars and bring out the flavors) process them, roll them, and store them.
I still have the oak molds and half cuchillos and the humidor I made from my cigars rolling days. (A pipe is much easier, even with the constant cleaning) But I do Love a good cigar from time to time. If they weren't outlawed I probably never would have taken the time to learn how to do all that. When someone tells me I can't, well you gotta know, the forbidden cigar taste so much sweeter.
I caught me a double dose of that "oppositional defiant disorder" when I was just a little bitty baby, don't tell me you can't.
The cost of production per pack of cigarettes is at about 50ยข these days, that's a lot of money you're giving to the government in sin taxes, don't you think they get enough of your hard earned dollars? Money grubbing Bastards...
It's always good to be the Master of your life, and not the Slave to your addiction.
Good morning! Happy saturday. Hope it was a good week for you. Trying to reply on my phone is such a pain in the ass. I frequently hit the back button and end up deleting the whole damn thing. LOL phones ugh.
Anyway I was trying to say....
Yes the chemicals in cigarettes suck. I switched to organic when I started worrying about it. They are a lot more than $10 a pack. So expensive to kill myself haha. My grandmother definitely had that loose and leathery skin. So reminiscent of sun damage.
I never smoked cigars. My children's father used to sell them for a time. He liked being cultured so he would try new things.
Thanks for offering your help. This is definitely something I have to do on my own. I feel like I'm getting there. It's a mind frame thing. I've had a few practice days that were successful. It was a lot easier to motivate myself when my kids were younger. Now that they're older and making their own mistakes it's a little easier to forgive myself and enjoy my own ๐
Yeah, the phone is a pain in the butt. All I have here in the boonies, don't even want to think of the text that got lost, deleted, screwed up and disappeared forever.
I've already written you a long epic novel, it's just a down right dirty shame three quarters of it got deleted.
Nothing sexier than a Lady Smoking a Cigar, some say it's a aphrodisiac.
I'll bet he was a interesting man, to have been the sparkle of your eye. Cultured you say?
Time to think of the little ones that rely on you today, and them grandbabies of tomorrow. You got this..
One step at a time, unless of course you're a Bee, then it's just a buzz away. ๐
I keep scanning the Pennsylvania news outlets looking for a daycare worker gone postal and commiting mass murder while suffering from nicotine withdrawals.
Yet to find any reference, so I'm assuming everything is going well.
There's a reason we smoke ๐s to keep them calm. It's ๐cause they are all addicted to the smoking, when nobody's looking they roll their own ๐cause they like the buzzzzzz...LOL ๐คญ
I don't know if you know this or not but when you smoke ๐s they fear a fire is on the way so they gorge on honey think they will have to skedaddle to save the colony by abandoning the hive, smart little buggers ๐cause they know if they die stinging you, the survival of the hive is in question ๐cause they don't have the Honey store they need after the fire. ๐s are such cool little insects and smart in ways few really comprehend. ๐ psychology go figure !!!
Are you still playing around with "practice days" are have you jumped off in to the deep end head first ? I don't see you as a toe dipper kind of girl, more of a big splash maker....
I took a puff of some Indian tobacco this morning, it was deep cleaning day and I wanted that coffee / caffeine buzz, and since they just go together like cookies and cream, or smooching and hugging, you just can't have one without the other.
The Indian tobacco is "Lobelia inflata" and doesn't have nicotine it has a similar molecule call Lobeline, it plugs into the nico receptors which satisfies the craving but doesn't feed the addiction...
May๐ you should look for some, but you'll need to roll it up or take up puffing on a pipe. Sexy, in a Ma Kettle or Granny Clampett kind of way...LoL ๐ค
Haha won't happen anyway. I would just give in and have the cigarette. It's kind of hard to get angry in my job though. Frustrated, yes
Smoking ๐ !! They probably know where the best plants are. I did not realize they think it's a fire but that's interesting. Bugs are neat little critters. My father-in-law has passed but he left a good friend in Italy who has an insect wing (no pun intended) in the Smithsonian, or so I'm told.
I will look into the Indian tobacco, thanks. That does sound like something that may be helpful. I see some all natural chew advertised on Gab but that just seems gross for some reason.
How did cleaning go? I am currently avoiding a big basement clean out. I don't know how it gets filled up all the time but I have way too many toys again lol. Plus my sister in law's stuff is down there. The remains after she went through it like 2 cleaning sessions. I think it's safe to get rid of this stuff but she never officially said so. I really need that corner cleaned up though.
Your up late for a working girl, hope all is well.
The big clean, start high and work till you drop, and then clean low. I have many interests so dust collectors galore. 3 may๐ 4 time a year it's just gotta ๐ done, unless I convert to some minimalistic shaker quaker cult, and that ain't never gonna happen.
Tobacco chewing you say ? Ohhh say it ain't so... I've only known one old lady who chewed, she sat in her rocker and rocked and spit and rocked and spit.
Truth ๐ told I wouldn't kiss those lips with my dogs butt. Old georgia woman mean as a rattlesnake ugly as sin. And everyone said she had calmed down and sweeten up after she quit drinking shine.
It's a dark path you choose when you start chewing, best just to clean the guns an get ready for the mass shooting.
I'll text more later, was just getting ready for bed when I heard you buzzing.
