When I was in college in the late 90's I played in the men's tennis program. A few of us shared classes outside of tennis and one day the top female player at my university got into an argument with one of the worst men on the program.
I mean this guy was only on the program so that he could have a college sport on his resume and wasn't all that driven to succeed.
Anyhow, the argument was some feminist bullshit where she was claiming that women are just as good as men at everything and this low-ranked guy said something like "Except at sports" so she challenged him to a match.
She showed up kitted out in all of her gear like a normal match. He showed up, I shit you not, wearing jeans and work boots and utterly destroyed her in straight sets. She didn't even win one set.
Now, I'm gonna be honest with you, I thought he'd win, but I also thought she would give him a good game, but it wasn't even remotely close.
That day really opened my eyes.
When the Williams sisters got blown out by a random dude without a sneaker deal we knew the left had lost their minds.
Tennis is both a precision game and a power game. Basically, he used speed and power to run her all over the court. She spent so much energy just trying to get the ball back across the net, that she didn't have much time place precise shots.
Any sport where power and/or endurance are a factor, testosterone has the edge.
I don't remember any specifics of the post-game conversation from that far back to be completely honest, but I do remember that she was humbled.
She didn't flip out and lose her mind like a modern feminazi would.
Upvoted for background🐸
I am female and remember at 5 my next door neighbor telling me boys were stronger than girls. I was appalled and in disbelief so I asked my mom. She confirmed that if not then (at 5) Harold would definitely be stronger than I could ever be in the coming years. Tested it out on my brother a few years later. Yep. Had to resort to outsmarting him LOL.
On an unrelated note, my husband has a good friend at work who is totally woke and liberal. She can laugh at herself and my husband's politically incorrect jokes though, and she is as true in times of trouble that a person can be. And I mean balls to the wall puts herself in some jeopardy to stay loyal to her friends. So she gets a pass for being a little misguided on politics.
Anyhow, she is clearly conflicted about the transgender athlete thing because like most liberal lies, the conflict between two "victim" groups exposes the hypocrisy. When this guy won my husband said, "Wow, men really are better at EVERYTHING. They are even better at being women, than women are!" Got a hearty laugh out of her.
Makes me think that the best red pill is humor.
Humor is absolutely the thing that changes minds. Sounds like this lady might be close to coming around. Good for you and your husband using humor to point out the ridiculousness of it all.
That reminds me of Arthur Ashe vs Billie Jean King. If you've seen the match, he wasn't even trying, and she was giving it her best. And he crushed her.
Gonna have to look that up, never heard of it before.
