Platinum metals are crucial catalysts outside of emissions control and very important in fuel cells.

Nickel is due to shorting and Russia, Russia supplies 35% of all nickel but also it's the main producer of battery-grade nickel and Elon even said on Joe Rogan that those Li-Ion batteries in EVs need way more nickel than lithium to make. Russia is currently fucking up the entire green new deal nonsense.
