When I feel myself getting anxious, I find it's best to step away from my normal routine and do something different. Especially get away from the computer. I will immerse myself into a project that is very "hands on"... it keeps my hands and mind busy focusing on what I'm doing at the time.
I've been feeling anxious lately so started a few projects. I've built a coat rack in my pantry, refinished an old cedar chest and now onto painting my foyer. Not sure what I'll do next but I'll find something.
I quit drinking too about 7 years ago and it was the best decision I've ever made. You got this.
