I too have suffered anxiety attacks all my life. I am 66 and the best way is:
Faith in God, prayer
No drugs except for necessary meds like BP meds, etc
Plenty of fresh air, sunshine and healthy food
Exercise, getting outdoors, appreciating nature
Stay busy growing vegetables, hobbies
Pets are so calming
Putting others' needs above yours, caring for the people who need help gives you satisfaction beyond yourself
Watch comedy movies, reading inspirational books and literature
Spending time with loved ones
Pamper yourself with small but meaningful things like an occasional bubble bath, an ice cream cone, etc
