Has she looked into becoming a scopist? The initial costs are a couple-few grand, from what I've been told, this for software. It's basically one level downstream from her job where the scopist gets court reporter audio tapes and reports (that use a very specific set of abbreviations) and types/translates them into a report. Since she's used to the lingo and (presumably) already knows the in-session court abbreviations, her learning curve would be minimal. They get paid by the page, I believe, can work from their home etc. Just something to consider. When the courts were closed due to the C19 scam, all those positions dried up, but now that the courts are open again, demand is up. So I've heard. Good luck.
