At this point, the thousands of miles of ancient tunnels in Ukraine might be a blessing.
The Russians don't know the tunnel systems like the Ukrainians do. You would think that hundreds of Ukrainian fighters could simply vanish and re-surface a few days later elsewhere if they know the tunnels.
From what I understand, most of those are more like the catacombs under Paris. In some areas, they are narrow, cramped or difficult to get through, in other areas they are easy to access. Some tunnels connect to basements of local buildings, while others are just old cellars, or passageways that collapsed or flooded decades ago and aren't accessible anymore.

I hope the Russians clean out the entire rats nest. My point was that some of the mercs or the Ukrainians will probably find ways out of the noose.
