A race car driver didn’t destroy Nascar. Nascar killed itself slowly after the death of Dale Earnhardt! I’m not saying it was because of Dale’s death Nascar went down in flames. They started changing everything about the sport. It’s true Dale Earnhardt was very influential on the decisions Nascar made. Many people that didn’t follow racing don’t know just how much he was involved with Nascar decision making. He was best friends with Bill France. Then when Bill France Jr took over it slowly started to decline. They become a liberal organization instead of remembering the roots of racing. They raised ticket prices when they couldn’t fill the stands. After all this they removed large portions of stands to make it look like they had a large crowd at the track. One final straw for diehard southern race fans, they banned fans from flying the confederate flag. (I don’t live by the confederate flag, it’s a part of history & that’s it for me!) They started the ban when Obama was stirring up racial tensions. Nascar listened to liberal companies because it was about the money.
I was a race fan since I was a child. My first memory is the first televised Daytona 500 the fight between Yarborough & the Allison brothers. My dad went to most southern races in the 70s. I went to my first race in 81 & that started my Dale obsession. I loved racing! My husband and I went to most races in NC & SC. We stopped going after our child was born, priorities. We watched a few years after Dale died. Eventually we stopped. Even after Dale I loved racing & found a new driver to pull for.
Bottom line it doesn’t matter the drivers race, religion or sex. If they are good they deserve to race. The problem here is pushing a person because of his skin color for political reasons.
Brad Daugherty is a perfect example of a driver & team owner who isn’t white being accepted in racing. A race fan just wants to see old school racing & most will support someone that proves they are worthy.

Thanks 😊 I’m passionate about all I sad. Mostly I’m still a huge Dale fan. I’m sure he would be disappointed in Nascar today.
