From the little I've known of leadership in churches is that they often deal with bad stuff going on that they work hard to shield others from, and that many boundaries they have up are life lessons and not out of malice or condemnation. Legal stuff, and financial stuff can bankrupt a church, also. Hopefully someone was able to help them outside the main support structure. Everyone has a part.
