While Google Maps is certainly convenient to find places while out and about, I am happy to have a flip phone. I resisted getting a cell phone up until 2005. I know if I was to ever get a smartphone, it would be hard to go back. Even if my students make fun of me for having a flip phone, I am content with it. My wife recently upgraded to a smartphone this past year, but she still borrows my phone to call her mom because it's more comfortable. I only charge it once a week.

...doggy sighs....
...those were the days my friend....
I have an old smart phone I use as an alarm for work and it holds a charge for over 2 weeks on airplane mode.
