Right. And as phones become more expensive you're not buying them outright anylonger. They're defunct and you need a new one every few years anyway. This is a major step towards getting you use to 'You will own nothing'. You'll just being loaned it (or maybe one day required, for tracking and surveilance) by your govt, which we all see is running our lives through corporations in ways they could never pass a law to do.
Yep I have both and neither are constantly carried around with me like a smartphone was. Additionally, I have been more mindful even with the dumb phone with never having the ringer on and usually putting it in a drawer when I get home.
So you just use a laptop or tablet instead?
I work from home and use a desktop PC. I do have a laptop that doubles as a tablet but rarely use it.
I have a cheap smartphone as well, but other than two factor authentication apps for work, I could easily get by with a dumb phone.
This is how the phones hook you, there are one or two essential features. I lost my good camera and now the phone is the only one.
If I didn't need the apps to log into work VPN, I'd totally go flip phone.
