Century Link? You have my deepest sympathies. I spent two full days last week trying and failing to get a single human being on the phone, tried about five different numbers, waited on hold for nearly an hour twice and then finally got someone and they, guess what? put me on hold for another 35 minutes and then that person put me on hold for another 40 minutes. Finally I was able to tell the worst customer service people on earth that the telephone line that was cancelled months for our relative who recently died was not only getting a ringtone, I called my cellphone and the call was from a different phone number (on her phone) than the number she had.
Sorry for the rant. Haven't noticed any internet problems here recently. I don't have Century Link.
I live in rural Virginia so I can relate. Our internet provider sent something two years ago saying we were finally getting broadband. Hah, not here. Too far out in the sticks. There are "no plans" to provide anything other than the overpriced wheezy stuff we get ever.
Thanks for your thoughts on our relative. She had been sick for a long time and had been in a nursing home for months. She's in a better place now. Her local phone company was bought out by Century Link several years ago.
