I’ve had two friends report that the pumps are shitting off at $40 and $50, respectively. They tried to move to other pumps and continue to pump but weren’t allowed. Anyone else experiencing this duckers?

your autocorrect is hilarious. :)
It learns from what you type...
Duck off, man. 😂🤣😂
Oh. Looks like you have the same second rate phone that I have. Never learns that one word!
yes i thought so!
Some stations will give you a cash discount for using cash. (Some, tho, have deals with their credit processor that they can't give cash discounts.)
I always try to use cash at small shops since they reap a better profit by not having to pay a percentage to the credit card. Even if I lose my cash back reward. Also nice to not have my every purchase tracked.
They should reap by not reporting the sale :)
I've seen a $100 limit, yes, but nothing so strict as $40 or $50.
That sounds like a restriction to prevent using stolen credit cards. I had one shut off at $75 one day while I was filling 27 gallons worth of cans in anticipation of the coming mowing season
That wouldn't surprise me at all!
Most pumps will only allow a certain amount anyway based on settings the seller can choose. It'll say on a little sign somewhere on the island probably. May be that they hadn't changed their settings from when 40 or 50 was a good sized amount of gas
I often get $100 cut off with credit card. I have two tanks to fill (3500 truck/diesel pulling heavy fifth wheel) while traveling the US. I have to run the CC a second time, sometimes a third. Often it won't accept the card the second time, and I have to use a different CC.
Use fuel points at Frys or Kroger. They have to let you pump 35 gallons regardless of the total sale. With a dollar off per gallon I spent 126.00 on a full tank.
But then you get Kroger gas in your tank.
Using Debit card at Costco gas, pump stops at $100, Last month my debit card expired so I used credit and it pumped past $100 to full.
Well that’s bullshut.
More like bullshat.
It actually depends on the site. Higher volume stores get higher limits. $40-$50 max is very odd though. What state is it?
In California Shell caps at $75
Not yet.
My expedition has a 30 gallon tank , I have experienced these credit card charge limits for years. The store will tell you it's the credit card companies and the credit card companies will tell you it is the stores policy. I have found through my complainin' that indeed it is the stores policy.
Nope. I haven't seen any limits. It takes more than $50 to fill up the tank on my car. Large trucks are way past $100 on fillups, and I haven't heard a single person complain.
I am thinking truck stops (diesel) likely have a higher limit, or no limit. I think I will try filling up at one and see.
If you prepay 40 or 50 bucks then it shuts off automatically but I have not heard of anyone else having this issue for such a small amount yet.
