The Freddy Krueger movies themselves got people to stop. The fear of a "demon" that was previously vanquished, coming back to haunt/kill your children is quite a real fear among Christians. The Freddy Krueger movies also "coincide" with the rise of "mainstream" pedo culture.

These two things have got to be related and not mere "coincidence."
