Because all spontaneous combustion drummer deaths are now chalked up as 'Covid'.

Poly-rhythms are a good antidote to SDC (Spont. drummer combustion) so Foo Fighter songs put Hawkins in the high risk category unfortunately for him.
Is it possible that Hawkins is still alive but the industry felt it was a good time for another musician death, so they send him to Fiji to live out his remaining 30 years?

I read it, and didn’t find it at all enlightening. I never liked Nirvana, Foo Fighters, or Grohl. The music industry is a cesspit. These people sell their souls for sex, drugs, and fame.
