You “give up” something you REALLY love, like, enjoy for Lent as a sacrifice or penance. My 9 yr old grandson gave up Spicy Doritos! Guess this Pastor just doesn’t understand the meaning of Lent or he really, really, really loves white gospel so he’s being cute by playing black gospel music which he really doesn’t care for and somehow this fits into the WOKE narrative. OR, he’s just an idiot!
