I just moved from DC after a very long time. I watched the flight patterns for the last few years. I've seen almost everything flying overhead. The planes mentioned in the article frequent the Bay and the Atlantic off the coast of VA on training missions. Truthfully, if it was known that a Klub-K or similar threat was on Ever Given, I'm pretty sure a couple of those shiny, new hypersonic missiles could vaporize the ship before they could ever deploy the concealed weapon.
