One of my takes is that the 'whitehats and blackhats' line of thinking is a bit of a farce in and of itself. I think Q and the DS are much more incestuous than it appears and this is all really just an attempt to stem the failure of our economic system and build something new instead of succumbing to collapse.

But I dunno anything. I'm on board either way.
