1 The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, 2 who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. 3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near. (Rev. 1:1-3)
I didn’t say it doesn’t mention Christ - I said it’s not Christ’s words nor Christs story. Those are the only two things in New Testament that can be corroborated about Christ - the few quotes of his words in the gospels, and the gospel itself Aka the story of Christ.
Revelation is literally a letter from a man, not an apostle, Saint, or god - a man - a Christian man - one who is imprisoned in exile with the Greeks. The letter is a warning to Christian’s at the time who lived in the Roman Empire (notice the word “soon” - do you take 2000 years as being “soon”?). It is written in code, and has thoroughly been studied by theologians - and there are many many many references/symbolism putting the warning together that apply directly to Roman Empire and it’s emperors and the Christian’s at the time, as far as giving direction to which groups living where and where to flee to for safety.
It’s like if you took the CLEARLY symbolic letters directing slave sympathizers on how to take and follow the Underground Railroad and decided “no no these letters were meant for an alien civilization in the year 4000”
Like dude, use your brain god gave you. It’s not a sin to question THE LETTERS OF A MAN which were conveniently entered into the New Testament bout a council of the OG deep state.
To the contrary, Revelation 1 states that Revelation is Christ's words and that it is His testimony:
The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. Shame on you for believing Uncorroborated letters written by a man nearly a century after Christ as being christs word.
If that is How you view things then you should believe anyone who says Christ spoke to them. In fact you should believe not only the politicians who pieces together revelations but you should also believe our current politicians who use Christ as a tool to manipulate sheep. In fact - I would wager you are one of the sheep who used to trust all the republican evangelicals cuz they spoke to your emotions/heart by using Christ as a tool. Likely, thanks to Q and trump, you prob question or disown many of those republicans. Thankfully that means you’re waking up.
Also - you conveniently ignore the “soon” part of revelations? Prob cuz it gives credence to what I said - it was a symbolic letter of warning to Christian’s at the time.
Also - I love that you either have a Bible that is only the passages and no pre-amble, or you conveniently ignore all of that.
Is Cheesus meant to be the mockery and scoffing that it appears to be?
17 But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold.18 They said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.” 19 These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit. (Jude 1:17-19)
Look, it’s as simple as this, sheep:
“Everything herein that I say is gods word and I testify so to it having been an angel sent to me verifying it is gods word and christs testimony”
If I said that before my comments, would you suddenly believe it? Why or why not?
It’s cute and all that revelation has mysticism about it, and it adds to the intrigue that it is 1900 years old - it it doesn’t change the fact it is a man, telling YOU that what he says is the word of god. Despite the fact he didn’t walk with Christ on earth and doesn’t have scrolls (either canonized or not) which support what he said as being anything more than a letter of warning to Christian’s of Rome.
The gospels on the other hand, have corroborating evidence, physical evidence supporting certain pieces, non canonized scrolls supporting most of it, etc - so that is why if one wants to be of Christ’s flock of those who are awake instead of simply being a sheep, it requires questioning heavidly anything that is not the gospel of Christ and claims to be.
Think for yourself - question authority. I’m out.
Jesus in the Gospels: I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you. (John 16:12–15 ESV)
Jesus speaking about the Apostles in the Gospels: Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me. (Matthew 10:40 ESV)
