I have a crazy question. So, a few years back, there was Anonymous. I never followed any of the stories, but were they early Q, or something totally separate?

Totally separate, but the anonymity mixed with the internet has become a trend in modern times.

Definitely a birthing point for many modern political movements. Both came from 4chan.

One thing to point out about Anonymous was that they are hacking activists. Its called hacktivism.

The Q movement is more researched focused, and has a strong focus on working within the law.
