Been buying a bag of rice and 4 cans of chili every time I go to the grocery store. Some rice and chili is plenty of calories and you can eat canned chili cold if your bugging out.
Every time you go to the grocery store buy some canned goods to store. It’s the nickel and dime way to accumulate food for prepping.
If your buying in bulk go to a cash n carry and even better befriend your favorite local restaurant owner. My Dad is good friends with the owner of his local bar and grill and whenever he wants to buy bulk food he buys through him and his restaurant supplier.
I've been buying dried beans and canned protein like tuna/chicken etc. I've never been the prepping type, but I've heard more than enough lately about food shortages to scare the shit out of me.
It's all coming to a head shortly. From the skyrocketing costs of farming supplies to the price of the diesel that the trucks need to carry the product... Even if you don't believe the hype about shortages, it sounds like we're going to have astronomical inflation on food at the least
At the beginning of CV, the local pizza guy put out that he was willing to purchase on behalf of the community via wholesale. I made sure to patronize him, because he actually practiced 'we are all in this together', unlike the assholes who were parroting that lie.
