I personally find it interesting. First, because Q mentioned such a thing, second, because mankind in general is interested in knowing the future.

Interestingly, Isaac Asimov even wrote a series called: The Foundation, discussing something called psychohistory focusing on large movement of mankind through time.

Somewhat reminiscent of this is the Fourth Turning.
