Can I suggest that you cool down, tool? Don't read so much into it. Why take such offense because someone wrote "rofl?"
If you read THAT much into every comment on the Internet, or even this board, how ya gonna deal with political satanists?
However, I see that you have taken offense. None was intended, and I apologize if that helps. I CERTAINLY did not intend to make you feel 'stupid'. I don't know you from a bar of soap, and, unless you've been stalking me, you don't know me at all either, right?
But in the interests of sharing: here is something I have a fundamental conviction about: Knowledge does not determine a person's true value. Ever. (And, for what it's worth, I don't really have any doubts that you do, in fact, 'know' more about other subjects than I. But so what? Is that important somehow? Not to me.)
If you think you've got more class than me, on the basis of a single text comment posted on a forum, I don't know what to say, except, I think you are reading way, way too much in things.
Maybe you have a sore chip on your shoulder regarding mistakes, knowledge, or class. I don't know, and I wouldn't presume to conclude one way or the other, but...
I am sorry if you feel stupid because of what I wrote. Personally, I mean no offense, and I don't feel any sense of "superiority" because of some "superior intellect" (your supposition, not mine!). And, to be frank, I didn't rofl because "that person made a mistake".
I rofled because, well, it's just a wrong. But who cares? If I knew you wre so sensitive about this sort of thing, maybe I'd write something different. Or maybe not. But let's NOT hold the mindset that anyone's real value derives from knowledge, or power, or wealth, shall we?
And, also this: Don't persecute me because I DO know some history. Or because I write well, or am articulate. OK? And I won't persecute you or ridicule you because you don't write well, or are not articulate, or don't know something. OK?
I'd like to write "Seriously. I never ever say such a blow up response from a simple 'rofl' ", but then, I'm kinda worried that you'll take offense at THAT, too.
You certainly didn't make me feel stupid. If you read what I wrote, I said tried to make. Past that, your essay of a reply does nothing more than prove my original point. Love one another, do no harm. Wouldn't that be nice. But you do you. Continue to TRY to lift yourself up by TRYING to make people feel less than. Whatever helps you sleep at night. Thinking I need to cool down, while writing a novel as a reply. Irony. I stand by my class statement, with more evidence than before.
