all due respect -- your friends still live there. I don't. Maybe they have higher tolerance for seeing violent criminals walk. For seeing homeless get away with randomly attacking men, women, and children. For letting red flag laws get passed. For seeing the cops chased off universities because students of color are afraid, but letting psychotic drug addicts camp out on same campus.
Check out some of the new statutes governing cops. They have a lot less power to stop a criminal than they used to.
Right, I acknowledged that earlier when I said that police departments don't always do great at executing the law. That's an issue nationwide. Police reform is a huge issue everywhere.
All due respect, not how people I know who live there describe Washington. As far as the law goes, it's legal to defend yourself.
Obviously some police aren't as great at knowing the law themselves though. We've seen that play out time and time again. We need reform.

Lol, no, they don't have any tolerance for seeing violent criminals walk or random attacks, I can tell you that much.
I've seen the statutes for citizens, giving them the right to self defense. Tha'ts what we're on.
I'll say it again:
it's a mish mash state. how things play out and how they are written don't always synch up.
some cities/towns are better than others in how they implement the law.
remember the summer of love?
So from a safety perspective-- the state is $hit.
