We have went back and forth for many hours, ovef several years, its usually him that starts the conversation. He was living on cloud 9 after Biden won. Not so much anymore. I find it promising he was watching Tucker.
So tonight I walk in and find him watching cat videos. I decided to stir the pot. I asked if he was going to go see the new movie, 2000 Mules. He said whats it about. I told him to look it up, he typed it in the search engine and read the description as I told him what it was about. His response was "No", thats it. He closed the screen and went back to his cat video in 2 seconds.
Typically he would be very arguementative. He didn't say anything. I think he knows his vote for Biden was a poor decision and he realizes I know he knows. Awkward feeling in the air. I didn't push the conversation any further, just said I have run and walked out.
Tables are turning on these liberals, they know it but will never admit it, not yet . I know one day in the near future, that guilt will turn in to embarassment. I can see it in his behavior, he is not happy like he used to be, seems depressed, lol. Cat videos?
This above story is about a male coworker, I also have a hot female coworker (imagine that, attractive liberal), shes a Biden supporter, avoids me these days. She would come find me after Biden won, all the luster is gone for her I guess, lol.
Got to go, punching out soon.
WWG1WGA!!!
I was thinking the same thing. It's kinda weird. When someone pays me, I figure I have to work.
I work in IT as well. My job is to make sure critical systems are running like they're supposed to.
I have lots of paid time where I have absolutely nothing to do but surf the net because everything's working, documentation is up to date, and 90% of the tasks I do are already automated.
Only time I have to do much of anything is when some Indian tech patches a system over the weekend and forgets to make sure the server is rebooted after doing so or ensure the patched server is working like it did in the test environment.
I already have all my monitoring software and team chat pulled up on the work laptop, and wearing a headset connected to the company phone system in case it's an all hands on deck situation.
I had flashbacks when you mentioned the Indian tech patches! Hahahaha!!! They do it every time!!!
yeah IT is one of those jobs where you seem to do nothing because everything is working or everything is broken so your accused of not doing your job.
What people don't realize is that doing something introduces change, change causes instability, therefore it's best to do as little as possible.
Indeed. My favorite time of the year is from mid-November until the end of February. Change requests are frozen unless it's for security updates, as changes can interfere with revenues from holiday related business, and also can interfere with end of the year reporting.
Also work in IT and usually have something playing in the background even if I'm busy. I realize not everyone is able to do that kind of thing at work, but assuming we're neglecting our job because we do things like that is stupid. The very nature of IT is that you're going to have some slow times. It is necessary that we have to stare at the wall in boredom during those times?
Good point there.
