I'm Orthodox Christian, so my perspective might be somewhat different, but I truly believe we need to keep church and state separate. I love the US constitution, please don't misunderstand, but we should leave the education of it to the parents and as individual responsibility as US citizens. If I wanted my church Father's opinion on the constitution, I'd reach out to him outside of service.
I go to church to further my relationship with God and work toward the immortal life in heaven. Bringing the constitution into the homily would be distracting.
There are a lot of parallels, however, between Christianity and the values that make up the constitution. Although I can see why someone might want it brought up... being in church, I'd rather stay on topic.
Yea, if we are even gonna have "churches" in the first place, since the original churches were in peoples' homes and in public gathering places, then the pastors should discuss politics and community issues
Absolutely, they were held in public places and laws were established. The church was a big part of city business! The definition; separation of church and state was misused and the Christian's allowed the ungodly to take over our political offices , and is one of the biggest reasons we are in the mess we are in . What let the ungodly run the country?? ,, so many Christian's are so mislead and now our country is being run by the devil! In the constitution most definitely needs to be preached from the pulpit the church needs to rise up and take this country back and it's our only hope, I have so much to say about this and about separation of church but hitting the freeway ,, but I'll be back for this discussion and sure glad we are having it .
I respectfully, respectfully disagree.

Last service I attended the “Message” was from a visiting black preacher about how a policeman hassled his son because he was black.
Sure that really happened, liar.
