The coastie inspector is mistaking lithium ion for combustible metal and class D extinguishers. Which almost no one has residential.
ABC is good for anything especially wood. The retardant melts over the hot wood and seals it to prevent air from flaring it back up.
Fake news. The dry chem does not melt it smothers. And barely large enough for extinguishing much.
