Cool. Everyone else move the burning lithium ion battery outside. Your 10 or 20 LB dry chem won’t extinguish it unless is just starting. Once it flashes like this one did it’s all over. Give it a shot but don’t let it block your exit.
The coastie inspector is mistaking lithium ion for combustible metal and class D extinguishers. Which almost no one has residential.
We were yalking about kitchen fires when I recommended ABC. And i specifically said it's good for wood.
As for lithium ion. How about just don't buy electric bullshit to begin with and avoid the problem from the beginning. It's not green at all and you're crippled by range. Gayyyyyyyyy.
ABC is good for anything especially wood. The retardant melts over the hot wood and seals it to prevent air from flaring it back up.
Fake news. The dry chem does not melt it smothers. And barely large enough for extinguishing much.
I was just taught this yesterday by a coast guard inspector. I'll trust him over you thanks though.
