.....
I had a wonderful childhood and Disney was one small part of it.
Disney was fun, entertaining, educational and seemed harmless at the time. I must have been immune to the hidden agenda way back then in the before times.
The movies in the theater were fun and my mom would sit with me in the back row so I could move about without bothering anyone.
I knew immediately when they began to release the movies on video tape that it was all over. Once people could buy the movies the theater was not necessary.
Back then they would re-release each movie about every seven years. Smart marketing. But then the videos started and that was it.
Herbie The Love Bug at the drive-in was so fun, and now these things are gone.
I even saw a few at Radio City Music Hall.
I was a smarter kid because of some of the scary themes. I knew to avoid strangers offering shiny things and tales too good to be true. And I learned about liars, cheats and thieves.
I am a musician now and recognize how Disney gave that to us. Just watch Mary Poppins with Julie Andrews & Dick Van Dyke, or Fantasia. Amazing.
We learned about love, and starting a family, even if was set around a bunch of puppies.
And we learned that sometimes things we love die.
Sunday nights at home brought The Bugs Bunny, Road Runner Show and The Wonderful World of Disney. Good stuff when you're a happy child.
The parks were a blast. Running from ride to ride to try and fit as many as you could into a day.
I was at Disney World in 1971 when they first opened. And visited Disneyland several times too.
I am so glad now for earlier days of blissful ignorance.
Now we see clearly the no longer hidden agendas and the dumbasses that care only about themselves and manipulating the world around them.
It is sad to see what has happened, but it was fun, long ago.
Funny how things work out, The Hall of Presidents was always one of my favorites. Go figure.
Thanks for reading.

The original run of Chip 'n' Dale cartoons were my favorite. And what's better than Lady and the Tramp?
Twice a year my parents would take us on Disneyland trips. As an adult I lived in Newport Beach and I bought a locally discounted Disneyland Annual Pass. Unlimited days and free parking. I had friends that did the same. We'd go every Wednesday evening. Catch a buzz at the House of Blues and hit all the good adult rides we could until closing.
Those were the days. Recently I killed all my Disney related accounts. Such a shame our world is going to shit.
How many of you spent Saturday mornings watching cartoons on the TV? My brothers and I would build a tent with our blankets and eat dry cereal out of the box while watching Sat. cartoons!
I watched cartoons growing up in the 70s. I never remember watching any Disney content other than Sunday night Disney show & going to a movie. In the mornings during the week Captain Kangaroo was on. I had three channels & they were off air at midnight. Back then parents didn’t have to worry about “agendas” pushed on kids by TV. Heck Saturday morning was the only time shows were dedicated to kids. Of course PBS had shows. I never liked any of those shows. I had to trick my brother in the afternoons so I could watch TV that wasn’t Sesame Street. I still despise those muppets.
Remember Romper Room, Sky King, Hop Along Cassidy? LOL I was just a youngster and followed what my older brothers did.
🎶He's a tramp❤And I love him🎶
I even kinda liked the new Lady and the Tramp on Disney+. The new Dumbo is an abomination. Togo on Disney+ is one of my top five favorite movies.
Ahh thanks for mentioning Togo! I looked it up & will check it out sometime. You know the part of Lady & the Tramp when they do their paw prints inside a heart in wet concrete? When you first walk into Disney World, there's a building on the right & that heart with paws is in the concrete near the entrance❤
Togo was the shit!
When I was a little boy my mother called me dumbo. Not because I had big ears because I loved how dumbo’ mommy tried to kill every elephant that fucked with her boy. That was my mom. And my dad. They protected me.
