Funerals and the act of burial is a creepy, sick, ritualistic ceremony foisted upon a spiritually devoid species to take more money from them (and perhaps, many darker metaphysical elements are a motivation as well). I was going to end this post with "Change my Mind" but that wouldn't be honest. I'm convinced of it. Anyone else feel the same??

Funerals are for the living. Not the dead.
I told my family to bury me in the ground and plant a tree on me.
Probably won't happen though...
That's what I asked for.
Our bodies are boring more than borrowed elements from the earth.
Avatars for universal conscience.
My husband and I will be cremated and we had our son cremated too as that was his wishes as per a discussion we had, had just months before he was murdered. We plan to have our other son put us in one box with 3 separate containers and stick us in the ground somewhere, doesn't matter where. Not real expensive that way.
Geez that's aweful. I'm sorry for your loss!
That's how I want it too. And an Irish wake with craft beer and good food. Actually they have what they call "green funerals" where they bury you in a biodegradable box and plant a tree over you, but they are probably as expensive as the traditional funeral home events.
Still preferable.
And you can easily DIY, especially if you if you have any land
