Condensed air caused by the rapid heating of super cold air (high altitude) which we call ‘contrail’ takes 15- 40 minutes to dissipate, depending on the altitude of the jet, and size of the engine.
They are in fact artificial clouds. In order to dissipate that quickly they would have to be low altitude.
