Based on the bottom of the Magpul mag hanging out of it, I'd say it's 5.56. It also has a scope with turret knobs, meaning it can reach out a lot farther than a pistol cartridge. No need for such a scope on a PCC. I think her name is Brienne.
I dunno man... I AM talking about the firearm to the right in the pic, hanging from her back... that mag looks more like a robust pistol cartridge mag to me, plus the side-mounted cocking handle....looks more like MAYBE a Hi-Standard 9mm or some other such PCC. It would be redundant to carry TWO AR's when mag changes are so easy.
But whatever, "Brienne" is welcome in my platoon any day of the week.
I'm thinking she's holding AR shotgun with low power red-dot and slinging an AR 5.56 on her back with a serious scope. A street sweeper for close range and long range rig on her back to reach out and touch someone.
It makes sense if the two ARs have different uppers in different calibers, you can't swap mag between different barrel diameters and the rifle cartridge mags look the same externally and fit in the same size magwell. That's why they make color-coded rubber bands that fit around mags so someone doesn't stick a 300BLK into their 5.56 and blow it up.
There's a big ass scope on the one on her back and that's not a pistol mag I have an AR in 45ACP the mag is a lot narrower. Given the size of the scope that AR's upper could be 6.5 Grendel instead. It for sure is not pistol cartridge though.
Does it have that charging bolt as seen in this pic? I'm asking for info purposes, not to be contrary. I have a 9mm PCC and it has a charging bolt just like that one.

But why would she need such elaborate optics for a shotgun?
Depends. She could be shooting slugs or 00 Buckshot. Could help in low light or locating the center of a large mass.

Plus... I can't see any optics that you're talking about, except on the AR in her arms.

That's not a charging handle, it's a windage knob on the scope. ARs don't charge on the side, they charge on the back of the upper.
There's a standard AR charging bolt on that one, it's not a side-charger that's the side adjustment turret of the scope for crying out loud!
