I know not Q related but I am desperate to find help for a loved one.

I feel your loved ones pain on Tinnitus. I have Meniere’s and Tinnitus can get really loud, right now as I type this it is pretty loud for me. I haven’t found a cure for it, if there even is one. I know before I get a Meniere’s episode (most call them attacks, I just don’’t like to call it that), my ear will start to get a “full” feeling, the more “full” it gets the louder the ringing gets. But even when my ear isn’t “full” I always have ringing in both ears. If you let it it can drive you crazy.
Certain loud noises hurts my ear and can make me instantly off kilter and sick to my stomach. My husband whistled next to me to get a neighbors attention down the street, it was not good for me for a few hours. Sometimes being in a very crowded place where it’s really loud is too much for me, it’s almost like being overwhelmed and you feel the need to leave.
It’s hard to do sometimes, but try not to concentrate on the ringing, push the mind to think of other things, and it could just become somewhat normal. If I start to focus too much on the ringing, I get up from where I’m sitting and go do something else to focus my mind on something new.
This is hyperacusis, sensitivity to sounds. If I am not at home, I keep an earplug in my worst ear because you never know when the grocery clerk is going to drop something, etc....or someone will choose to honk their horn when getting gas...stupid stuff, but it hurts.
